On 15 January 1961, Rudolf Jänchen took over a sheet metal processing company in the Tempelhof area of Berlin. His first equipment consisted of a wood shed, a small workshop and an employee who manufactured baking trays and cake tins for large bakeries. Rudolf Jänchen quickly learnt the basics of metalwork. Soon afterwards, Siemens and Lorenz SEL entrusted our company with its first large orders.

An order for over 100 door frames for the Steglitz Clinic was the foundation stone for stainless steel processing.

1970s: Tireless dedication pays off.

Our company entered into a phase of technical redevelopment. New standalone products in stainless steel were created. Production became more complex.

In 1971, the company moved to new workshops in Oberlandstrasse 5 in Berlin–Tempelhof. Our machine park was developed with modern machines and the workforce expanded.

The main focus of our company in the 1970s was in the canteen and large kitchen sector. At this time we also began to produce sanitary room fittings.

1980s: Our company stays on track.

In 1989, the Berlin wall came down. With reunification, a new era began - also for our company.

The first laser cutting machine came into use in our workshop. Laser cutting meant that we could now produce complex sheet metal cuts with the highest level of precision.

We continued to develop our knowledge in order to offer the best possible service. At the same time, we expanded our large kitchen fitting department: We provided complete kitchens and canteens for the Berliner Stadtreinigung and the Bewag in the 1980s.

The enjoyment of experimenting with stainless steel also led to some new product discoveries. That's how the all-terrain vehicle “DKW Munga” came to its stainless steel body.

1990s: Stainless steel. One material. Many possibilities.

In 1990, Johannes Jänchen became Managing Director of R. & D. Jänchen Edelstahlerzeugnisse GmbH. The trained fitter, who had already completed his training with our company, also brought business knowledge learnt from subsequent studies.

We continued to improve and develop our stainless steel processing techniques. We offered a wide range of services. From the manufacturing of small parts to the production of entire series. With modern technology like stamping and laser techniques, individual pieces, small series and complete system solutions can be manufactured.

In 1993, our company moved to its new headquarters in Malteserstrasse in the Marienfelde area of Berlin.

From 1994 onwards, we have collaborated with an artist to create various kinetic stainless steel objects.

Today: Custom-made high quality stainless steel products.

In 2004, senior partner Rudolf Jänchen left the company.

Today, our company is in a good position. Our customers trust our experience. We offer custom-made solutions, from the pure stainless steel product and beyond.

In development and production, we concentrate on a few core areas: in addition to functional furniture for the medical industry, laboratory fittings for sterile areas in hospitals and pharmaceutical companies and sanitary room furnishings in the commercial/ public sector belong to our field of expertise.

Our products are always individually made, often on a one-off basis. When working with stainless steel, everything must fit together perfectly. Our passion for this diverse material remains central to our everyday work - always under the motto 'Stainless steel is our strength'.
